Main purpose of the role:
The HS Intern will be required to perform responsible for all HS matters and issues at the relevant project sites.
Key responsibilities:
The HS Intern will be coordinating Corporate HS functions which will include.
- Weekly HS Data Capturing and Trend Analysis
- Updating of HS SharePoint
- Review and provide input to the update of Corporate HS Procedures Policies and incorporate all
- comments into updates
- Weekly HS Inspections in offices and when visiting project sites
- Attending HS Meetings
- Preparing MoM for HS Meetings
- Developing HS Awareness and Training Materials
- Participating in Site HS Audits
- Reviewing of contractor HS Files including RAMS, under supervision of the HS Agent
- Conducting HS Training
- Inspection of Fleet Vehicles
- Analysing Fleet GPS Data and preparing reports on trends
- Attending Contractor Monthly Meetings where required
- Administration of internal reporting systems and drive close out of observations
- Conduct Minor incident investigation
- Contribute to the development of H&S Specifications and attend where required contractor bid
- evaluation requirements
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- The HS Intern shall report to the Corporate HS Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENC.E
The required candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant HS Diploma/Degree
- Less than 1years experience
Additional training will be provided and support towards statutory body (such as SACPCMP) registration:
- HS Representative / First Aider / Fire Marshall / Incident Investigator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
- Speaks and writes English fluently. Good knowledge of another language is an advantage,
- Good report writing ability,
- Good communication skills,
- Analytical thinking with focus on customer and goal achievement,
- Above average computer skills and literacy,
- Well-versed in the use and application of Microsoft office software,
- Above average report writing skill, with good spelling and grammar acumen,
- General technical acumen.
