The Oasis Project is a strategic initiative supporting South Africa’s energy transition through large-scale battery storage solutions. The Construction Site Manager will oversee the execution of safe, compliant, and high-quality construction for EDF’s winning projects under this program.
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to lead on-site operations, contractor management, and compliance enforcement. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, coordinate with Eskom, and drive project milestones to completion.
Act as OHS Act 8.1 appointee, ensuring a zero-tolerance safety culture.
Oversee HSE and quality compliance, conducting regular site inspections and audits.
Manage environmental compliance with Wind Farm Environmental Management Plans (EMPrs).
Supervise EPC contractors, Environmental Consultants, and HSE Agents.
Ensure construction schedule adherence, chairing weekly contractor meetings.
Maintain site discipline and enforce construction framework standards.
Review and manage construction documentation and reporting.
Oversee progress payments, contractor claims, and commercial compliance.
Lead grid operator coordination (Eskom) and Self-Build Works monitoring.
Ensure engineering design implementation and quality verification.
Host third-party site visits, audits, and stakeholder engagements.
BSc, BTech, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Construction.
SACPCMP registration (or equivalent).
Experience in renewable energy projects as a Site or Construction Manager.
Strong contractor management and compliance oversight experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Proven leadership in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and project execution skills.
