The K1 Cluster of Wind Farms is a critical part of EDF Renewables’ expanding portfolio. The Wind Operations Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operations and maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines, ensuring compliance with service agreements, HSE policies, and plant performance metrics.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Wind Operations Supervisor to oversee the O&M activities of the K1 Cluster of Wind Farms. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will monitor performance KPIs, contractor compliance, and maintenance standards to ensure optimal plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor wind turbine O&M activities and enforce HSE and quality policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
- Oversee contractor performance in line with the Service and Availability Agreement (SAA).
- Manage and track site findings, defects, and safety risks.
- Ensure plant operating and maintenance standards are met.
- Prepare and review annual O&M plans and ensure OEM compliance.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Administer contract management for specific site responsibilities.
- Track plant performance KPIs, including availability, downtime, and failures.
- Facilitate third-party audits and site visits.
- Liaise with landowners, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Higher National Diploma or NQF 6 Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of general work experience.
- At least 5 years in wind energy, with 3+ years as a Technician with a global turbine OEM.
- Experience with ORHVS and LV/MV/HV switching and operation.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the Eastern Cape.
